Ornamental Flashing LEDs

This circuit can flash three sets of LEDs with different levels of Flashing. It can be used as Ornamental displays.

The circuit uses a simple Astable multivibrator built around the popular timer IC NE555. Resistors R1,R2 and capacitor C1 determines the output frequency. When the output becomes high, Red LEDs lights first. When the capacitor C3 charges fully, Yellow LEDs light. The delay time between this depends on the value of C3. When the output of Astable turns low Green LEDs light using the current stored in the capacitor. Since this cycle is very fast, different levels of Flashing can be obtained. If the light from Green LEDs is low, reduce the number to one.

    i made this circuit but green leds not working nd other 2 lEDS just on not blinking…. so i need your help
    i have checked this circuit with diffrerent values of capcitors nd resistors but it still not proper working

      555 timer connection are properly connected ,,nd R1 has also connected wd +spply ,,, .. but green leds still not working ,,, i will try in signal leds may b its problem or fault of less storing charge of capacitors,,,,

      Is the R1 getting +ve supply?

      I think you should re check the connections of 555 n LEDs properly. When I tried the circuit I used only one LED each color. I used ultra bright green LED that gave a brilliant flash.

    The circuit is interesting and gives good scope for experimenting. I used one LED each-red, green and yellow. The ultra bright green LED gives brilliant flash. I ran the circuit at 6VDC and changed R4 to 470 ohms.
